Our History

Ebenezer Home Care is a testimony about how the Lord helped our family in a challenging process. Ebenezer means "Stone of Help" after someone successfully overcomes a difficult time. The owner and founder of Ebenezer received the news that her mother had breast cancer, and this process came with many setbacks.

Finding appropriate care was not an easy task. Many agencies wanted to take advantage of the situation, and some coordinators were not empathetic. After calling a few providers, the founder decided to give a shot to a local agency that sent different caregivers daily. Her mother missed coverage regularly, and due to the inconsistency, the founder had to leave her duties, which threatened to affect her work performance.

Thinking about the next call-out was always in her mind. Hearing her mother complain about how some caregivers did not show up on time or did not prepare her meals the right way was too much of a burden.

After nine years of working for a reputable company, the founder of Ebenezer had to quit her job to care for her mother. She realized how difficult it was to find reliable caregivers during the process. Moreover, the state programs that helped seniors in Connecticut did not respond immediately, and the time to activate state-funded services became a kilometric ordeal. The desperation made her quit her job to dedicate her entire time to her ailing mother.

Between doctor’s appointments and radiation therapy visits, the founder vowed to help other families so that they do not have to go through what she had to do. After almost a year of intense battle, the founder’s ailing mother completed her radiation therapies successfully. She was declared cancer free in what she believes was a miracle from the Lord!
